Nanomaterials

Nanomaterials are materials composed of particles or structures with at least one dimension in the nanometer range (1-100nm). Due to their small size, high surface area-to-volume ratio, and quantum confinement effects, they exhibit unique properties. Nanomaterials have a wide range of applications in fields such as electronics, medicine, energy, and environmental remediation. One example of a nanomaterial is graphene, which is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb lattice. It has high mechanical strength, conductivity, and thermal conductivity. Another example is quantum dots, which are semiconductor particles that emit light when excited. They have potential applications in imaging and solar cells.
